My Birthday Weekend: Sunday

On Sunday, we went to the Louvre Museum for pretty much the entire day.

This is my favorite metro exit, also happens to be the exit for the Louvre.

The three of us on the Seine.

Anna inside the Louvre

We got a snack at this cafe in the Louvre that had amazing views.  I had a picture of Anna laughing but she deleted them, so I made her retake them.

Mary, with the Louvre pyramid in the background.

The three of us with part of the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower in the background.

View from our table

Pyramid!

Mary, standing in front of a pre-Renaissance painting that she learned about in one of her classes last year.  Apparently this is a really good example of how artists at the time didn't understand the idea of proportion, as viewed in the size of the baby relative to everyone else.

Venus de Milo.  We just squeezed this in right before the museum closed.  Apparently a farmer in Greece accidentally dug it up one day.  Oh, and don't worry, of course we saw the Mona Lisa, but I didn't take a picture of it.

Mary loves the Louvre!

So does Anna!

Inside the Louvre at night.

My "something French" gift from my mom: a beret, how fitting.
