Weekend in London

I took a quick trip to London this past weekend, as many of my NYU friends chose to study abroad there. As was to be expected, it was cold, rainy, and grey for pretty much all of my visit. Sure makes me appreciate the weather in Paris...

Walking across the Millennium Bridge (which apparently, when it was opened for the Millennium, started swaying under the weight of all the people and had to be shut down for a period of time while it was reinforced)

View through the bridge of the Thames River. You can see London Bridge way off in the distance.

Looking back at the Tate Modern Museum, which we visited and was pretty cool (though not as good as the MOMA).

My friend Maya, walking across the bridge. She will probably hate me a little if she ever finds out that I put up this picture.

So I took this picture because of all the cranes that were on the London skyline. I have no idea why they seem to be building a million new buildings, I felt like I was back in Dubai...

St. Paul's cathedral, which apparently you have to pay to get into. No thanks, I'll just stay wet and rainy.

There was a real, live British wedding going on outside. Everyone looked so English (note the large amount of feathered hats on the ladies)

This is the ruins of something really old. I forget what it was, but I remember being impressed. I think the Romans built it...

Neeti (who was visiting from the US) and Alisha at dinner at Yauatcha.

And that's all the pictures that I took, mostly because I was too tired to take pictures the rest of the time. But in case you're interested, here's what I did: shopped at Suffrages, took a double decker bus (twice!), rode the tubes, to a lot of cabs, went to Tinseltown, one of the few 24 hour places, to have a peanut butter and banana milkshake, played Harry Potter clue, watched Love Actually, ate Lebanese food, went to the movies and paid 12 pounds to see "4 Christmases", went to Piccadilly Circus, went to Portobello Market, didn't sleep much, and took the Eurostar home (and there, for that matter). Whew!
